Fabulous, simply put. Of course you need to keep your head straight with all the parallel story lines that actually goes on, but that is just the spice that makes this book such a tremendously fun ride.

How the heck can I rate the book if I cannot download it to read it??? What's with that? I will re-rate later on IF I can download it.

A little bit disorienting at first because of the group intelligence aliens, but well worth the initial confusion. The universe is fresh and engaging. The plot is riveting and the characters really draw you in. I am definitely reading the next one.

An amazing story that offers an original premise with likable, believable characters. It qualifies as space opera in that the scope is sweeping and the events are far-reaching, with spaceships capable of covering light-years in short periods. However, there's nothing cliche about this story! I've purchased it in hardcover, in paperback, and as part of a CD collection that's no longer readable. Can't wait to pick it up here for my REB-1100 and my ETI-1 (in former incarnations the SoftBook or REB-1200).

Definitely a modern SF classic. Kicks ass and doesn't bother taking names.

A very good book - well written and engaging. Additionally, the entire premise of the book is, I think, original here, something rare not just in SF but in *any* genre.
